Africa Day at COP27
COP27

Africa Day and the EU Global Gateway

COP27 will take place in Sharm el Sheik (Egypt) from 7 to 18 November 2022. It will be the first African climate COP since 2016 and the first one to gather Ministers to assess pre-2030 ambition in the wake of the Glasgow announcements.

The Global Gateway Africa-Europe Investment Package launched at the EU-AU Summit in February 2022 provided an important tool for the two continents to strengthen their partnership and ensure that sustainable and inclusive investment priorities are at its core.

On 8th November, the EU is organising “Africa Day – EU Global Gateway” at the EU Pavillion. Its main objective is to position Global Gateway as the key driver for the green transition in Africa.
