Advancing Decent Work in Bangladesh (ADWiB)

Overview

The project aims to ensure that more Bangladeshi men and women workers benefit from decent work through improved policies and legislation.

The project provides a range of support:

  1. Labour Law Reform – Supporting legal implementation, aligning labour law with international standards and building stakeholder capacity.
  2. Labour Administration Reform – Strengthening the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), Department of Labour (DoL), Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), and labour courts through policy development and capacity-building.
  3. Social Dialogue – Enhancing tripartite dialogue institutions and stakeholder engagement.
  4. Child Labour Reduction – Prioritising hazardous child labour through monitoring, analysis, and awareness.
  5. Sustainable Enterprises – Promoting responsible business conduct and Human Rights Due Diligence in the readymade garment (RMG) sector and other industries.
