Overview
The overall objective is to promote responsible business practices globally, enhancing participation, accountability, and conflict prevention, while supporting economic development, sustainable trade, and investment relations.
Key activities include:
- Supporting states in developing and implementing National Action Plans on Business and Human rights
- Strengthening the capacities of businesses to develop and implement human rights policies and human rights due diligence processes within the framework of the UNDP B+HR Academy
- Strengthening state-based and operational-level grievance mechanisms
- Providing global thought leadership on business and human rights through research and practical tools that are responsive to the needs of states, businesses, and other stakeholders
- Facilitating peer learning through global, cross-regional, regional, sub-regional, national, and sub-national thematic dialogues and communities of practice, as well as south–south and triangular cooperation on business and human rights
