Overview
Building on award-winning methodology on human rights impact assessment, the guidance draws on experiences on human rights impact assessment through collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including civil society and companies, to create accessible guidance for the private sector and other users of digital technologies on how to conduct human rights impact assessment of digital activities.
By identifying key human rights impacts and challenges related to a wide range of digital projects, products and services (‘digital activities’), the guidance contributes to the development of the knowledge base and policies on human rights and digital technologies.
Considering that human rights impact assessment of digital activities is an emerging field, the guidance is also meant to inspire conversations and dialogue around the human rights impacts of digital activities.
