Overview

The aim of INATrace is to improve the economic circumstances of smallholder farmers.

INATrace is a digital traceability solution for agricultural raw materials, from production to the final product. With the increasing demand for sustainable agricultural products and the growing importance of corporate due diligence (e.g., through the EU Deforestation Regulation, EUDR, and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive - CSDDD), there is a pressing need for transparent and traceable supply chains. In a market where traceability solutions remain fragmented, INATrace addresses the needs of stakeholders at the beginning of supply chains. By using INATrace, cooperatives can transition from paper- or Excel-based systems to fully transparent and digital processes, while maintaining ownership of their data, thereby improving their negotiating power with buyers. The app is available in both web and offline versions.

During the project phase, pilot projects, including training sessions and capacity-building activities, were conducted in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Rwanda. Although the project has concluded, the app can still be downloaded free of charge, and the INATrace toolbox offers a comprehensive overview of essential resources, tools, and guidance needed to integrate, use, and scale INATrace effectively within your supply chain or project.
