Inclusive Markets in Bolivia II

Overview

The overall objective of the project is to improve livelihoods and sustainability through more eco-friendly agricultural and production practices, market system interventions and increased climate resilience.

The general purpose of the second phase of the project is to influence the i) intensification of agroecological agriculture, ii) conscious use and consumption of resources and products, and iii) social inclusion of the vulnerable population within agri-food systems.

Key activities of the project are:

  1. Introducing technological innovations to promote sustainable agricultural practices,
  2. Introducing market and marketing innovations to improve the livelihoods of indigenous people who own large tracts of land,
  3. Promoting sustainable trade with an environmentally friendly perspective,
  4. Making interventions in the financial system to promote sustainable finance,
  5. Improving management capabilities of local governments for public investment in productive activities with environmental protection in mind, and
  6. Developing gender mainstreaming actions to improve livelihoods and conditions for women's empowerment.
