Overview
The InTex project aims to support companies, policymakers and industry stakeholders in the textile sector in adopting innovative, circular and resource-efficient business models that reduce environmental impacts and promote more sustainable textile value chains.
It provides training, guidance and practical tools to help producers measure and reduce the environmental impact of their products, including through approaches such as Product Environmental Footprint and life-cycle assessment. The project also generates research and evidence on sustainable textile practices and facilitates collaboration between businesses, industry associations and governments to promote eco-innovation, improve resource efficiency and strengthen transparency in textile value chains. The project supports:
- Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), including brands, retailers, and manufacturers, through training and technical assistance to adopt circular business models. Using life cycle approaches and eco-innovation, these companies are supported in minimizing the environmental footprint of their textile products
- Governments by engaging them to develop and implement effective policies that support the shift to a circular textile economy
