Integrated Economic Development through the Mining Sector in Mauritania II (DEIM II)

Overview

The main objective of the project is to enhance the economic, ecological, and social conditions in the Mauritanian mining sector.

The project advises national government agencies on:

  1. Strengthening the capacity of local businesses to supply goods and services to the extractive sector.
  2. Enhancing the capabilities of vocational schools to train skilled workers with up-to-date knowledge.
  3. Improving working conditions and environmental sustainability in artisanal gold mining.
  4. Promoting transparency and good governance in the extractive sector.
