Responsible Business Conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean (Phase II)

Overview

This project aims to foster smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth in the EU, Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Key activities of the project, implemented by the OECD, include:

  1. Work with businesses: Data analysis, resource mapping, and identification of training needs related to due diligence practices in LAC (including a Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) survey); capacity building and an e-learning programme on RBC in LAC; and due diligence checkers for the agriculture and mining sectors.
  2. Work with governments: Technical meetings with government officials on their role in promoting RBC; training on mainstreaming RBC into sectoral or RBC-related policies; training sessions on RBC for networks of trade and investment officials and LAC NCPs; and an RBC Policy Review for Chile.
  3. Work with LAC NCPs for RBC: Regular meetings to share best practices and experiences among NCPs; translation of resources and tools into Spanish and/or Portuguese; and activities to promote engagement and collaboration with National Human Rights Institutions in the seven target countries where an NCP exists.
