Responsible Business Helpdesk (RBH) - Network

Overview

The aim is to better prepare local businesses for increasing human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD) requirements.

The Responsible Business Helpdesks and Hubs (RBH) inform, sensitise, and advise companies about Responsible Business Conduct and due diligence requirements in ten countries. The helpdesks are hosted by local chambers and associations in Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan, Serbia, Mexico, Pakistan, Tunisia and Türkiye.

The service portfolio of each RBH depends on local needs and challenges. Key activities of the RBH include:

  1. Raise awareness and build understanding on Responsible Business Conduct and relevant EU legislation such as CSDDD, CBAM, EUDR or the ESPR among business associations, chambers, and export-oriented companies.
  2. Provide a free-of charge and basic e-Learning on the due diligence process specifically for export oriented suppliers in the local south – available on atingi in 10 languages
  3. Deliver in-depth training programs for companies on risk-based due diligence approaches and key risk areas such as occupational health and safety, gender discrimination or forced labour.
  4. Connect companies with existing support services and expert networks that provide tailored advice based on their specific needs.
  5. Develop local knowledge centres on Responsible Business Conduct, offering learning materials, FAQs, practical tools and translations of relevant policies and regulations.

The RBH Network

The associations and chambers hosting the RBH are part of the cross-country and cross-sectoral network – The RBH Network facilitated by GIZ. The members of the network are representing more than 800.000 companies in ten countries. The RBH Network fulfils different functions:

  • Facilitation of peer-to-peer learning, expert exchanges and network opportunities with multinational enterprises and policy actors
  • Provision of the RBH Toolkit for chambers and associations that provides guidelines, templates, information material and translations and that allow a easy replication of the RBH model to other country and sector contexts.
  • Develop joint positions on Responsible Business Conduct, take them to the policy level and offer North-South exchange formats
