Overview
The RBH Pakistan serves as dedicated platform to support businesses in adopting responsible, sustainable, and internationally compliant practices. As international standards and responsible business frameworks are evolving, the RBH assists Pakistani enterprises in meeting these growing requirements.
The RBH has established a multi-stakeholder taskforce to support responsible business conduct and preparedness for emerging EU sustainability requirements. The taskforce comprises 22 representatives from industry associations, academia, consulting firms and governments.
The taskforce received capacity development on Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD), the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, and the Digital Product Passport (DPP). Taskforce members serve as multipliers within their respective sectors. Through this multiplier approach, taskforce members disseminated their knowledge and expertise to 475 textile organizations across Pakistan, strengthening industry-wide awareness and capacity on HREDD. The RBH also conducted technical and financial feasibility assessments on HREDD implementation for Pakistan's textile sector, while delivering awareness and dissemination activities to strengthen industry understanding of evolving sustainability regulations.
Building on these achievements, the RBH is now expanding the support to the textile, leather, sports goods, surgical instruments, and rice sectors to strengthen SME preparedness and practical compliance with international sustainability requirements. Example activities include:
- sector feasibility assessments
- enhanced advisory services and helpdesk operations
- Training of Trainers (ToT)
- Webinars and awareness campaigns
- HREDD toolkits
- Buyer-supplier dialogue
- Networking events
