Overview
The objective of the program is to strengthen rights-based activities in trade-unions, leading to increased inclusiveness, transparency, capacity which in turn leads to more favorable conditions for human rights in working life.
Through capacity-building work such as social dialogue and collective agreements, Union to Union aims to improve working conditions for people in poverty.
The Union to Union project database includes 60 projects funded in 64 low- and middle-income countries around the world. Union to Union’s work is primarily geared towards building up the capacity of unions in low and middle-income countries for organising, negotiating, advocacy work and promoting gender equality and democracy. Its partners are usually Global Union Federations and trade unions.
Example activities of Union to Union are:
- Training of trade union representatives and capacity building for members and organisations
- Advocacy work to give trade unions and workers a stronger voice in the dialogue with companies and governments
