The second edition of the EU–Tanzania Investment & Business Forum will take place in 2026–2027 under the theme "EU–Tanzania Partnership: Turning Potential into Prosperity", bringing together public and private sector leaders to unlock sustainable investment, trade and business opportunities between Tanzania and the European Union. Taking place in two phases — with three thematic roadshows across Europe from 28 September to 6 October 2026, followed by a high-level forum in Dar es Salaam in early 2027 — the initiative will showcase Tanzania’s growing investment potential and strategic role as a gateway to East Africa. 

What are the objectives of the Forum?

As one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies, Tanzania has emerged as a dynamic lower middle-income country with strong ambitions for sustainable and inclusive growth. Through its Vision 2050, the country aims to diversify its economy, expand value-added production, strengthen private sector participation and attract sustainable investment. 

In line with the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, the Forum will promote smart, clean and sustainable investments in priority sectors of shared strategic interest to Tanzania and the European Union.

The Forum aims to:

  • Showcase Tanzania as a competitive investment destination for the European private sector
  • Attract European businesses and investors to Tanzania
  • Strengthen EU investments, business linkages, value addition and job creation in Tanzania
  • Demonstrate that the European Union is a reliable and long-term business and investment partner for Tanzania
  • Support green and digital transitions through sustainable investment
  • Facilitate business-to-business (B2B), business-to-finance (B2F) and business-to-government (B2G) partnerships

Programme

  1. 28 September – 6 October 2026
    European roadshows

    Three thematic roadshows will be organised in Europe to present Tanzania’s investment opportunities and connect Tanzanian and European stakeholders. Planned locations include:

    • Helsinki, Finland – 28–29 September 2026
    • Italy, Emilia-Romagna – 1–2 October 2026
    • The Netherlands, The Hague – 5–6 October 2026

    These roadshows will boost interest and raise awareness about Tanzania’s investment, trade and business opportunities, bringing Tanzanian public and private stakeholders directly to EU businesses and investors. They will feature high-level plenary sessions, sector-specific break-out discussions, project pitching and targeted matchmaking (B2B, B2G, B2F).

  2. Early 2027
    Tanzania–EU Investment and Business Forum in Dar es Salaam

    The Forum will capitalise on the momentum created in Europe, with the goal of deepening initial business engagements, advancing concrete deals and partnerships and fostering long-term sustainable investment relationships between Europe and Tanzania.
