Job description
The purpose of this Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) post is to contribute towards enhancing the EU's crisis response and peace, stability and conflict prevention work, particularly (but not exclusively) in West and Central Africa, through actions financed from the EU's NDICI Global Europe.
The job holder will be hosted by the Delegation to Senegal and will work as part of the Regional Team (RT) for Western and Central Africa under the supervision of the Head of
Regional team.
He or she will work in close coordination with Delegations in Western and Central Africa on the identification, preparation, implementation and monitoring of FPI actions, notably crisis response actions as well as thematic peace, stability and conflict prevention activities and potentially foreign policy needs actions.
The jobholder will undertake activities in close coordination with the FPI HQ and the concerned Delegations in the region. Where identified or requested by HQ and Delegation(s), the jobholder will work on the identification and preparation of new actions. This will involve the monitoring of unfolding political and crisis contexts and undertaking associated analytical work, in close cooperation with political and operational colleagues at the host and other Delegations in the region covered. The jobholder will also ensure the management of actions during their implementation.
The jobholder will contribute to ensure the coherence and complementarity of the various NDICI actions and activities managed by FPI in Western and Central Africa.
