High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development - Education - a key pillar of EU Global Gateway strategy and SDG implementation

Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen and UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed will do the keynote speeches at the the UN High Level Political Forum side event on Education.

The EU side-event will assess the challenges posed by the economic and social recovery that the European Union and the world are facing, notably how to redesign how we connect the world to build forward better in line with the SDGs.

The event will take stock of implementing Global Gateway by working in a Team Europe approach, the need for strong global partnerships for sustainable investments in digital, transport, education and research, as a tangible to support the implementation on the SDGs and a sustainable recovery. Education plays a key role in achieving all SDGs and sustainable recovery and is a key driver of the Global Gateway strategy.

Within this, it will put a special focus on quality education and look ahead to the Transforming Education Summit.
