Foreign ministers from the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean are meeting together virtually on Monday 14 December for an informal ministerial meeting.
European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, is delivering a keynote opening speech at the meeting, which is hosted by Germany’s Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, and chaired by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell Fontelles.
The varied issues for discussion include how to secure a post-Covid recovery that delivers a greener, fairer and more sustainable future for all. The meeting is a further sign of the strong ties of solidarity that bind our regions. It also underlines our commitment to our long-standing partnership, based on common interests and shared values, including democracy, sustainable development, human rights and the rule of law.
