Second edition of EU Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships: Applications are open!

EU Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships: Applications are open!

Applications are open to participate in the next generation of the EU Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships. The board will advise the European Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen and Commission Directorate-General for International Partnerships on youth participation in EU external action.

The Youth Sounding Board creates opportunities for young people to express their views, connect and exchange. It enables young people to influence EU external action and international partnerships making EU action more participatory and effective for young people in partner countries.

The continuation of the Youth Sounding Board is one of the commitments foreseen in the Youth Action Plan in EU external action for stepping up meaningful youth participation. The Youth Action Plan promotes partnerships with young people as essential actors of change for more democratic, equal, inclusive and peaceful societies.

“The first edition of the Youth Sounding Board is a great success! Among other achievements, it helped me and my Directorate-General to really deliver with the first-ever Youth Action Plan. With the second edition, the Youth Sounding Board will become a permanent fixture of the EU’s international partnerships and I cannot wait for our productive cooperation because there is no future without youth. I want to thank the current Sounding Board and look forward to receiving applications for the next generation of it!”, said Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen.

The Youth Sounding Board will be composed of 25 members aged 18–30 from the EU and across the world (see list of eligible countries). Applicants are required to have practical experience from youth participation processes, youth policies, or to have engaged in youth organisations and/or in youth-led initiatives. Youth organisations are able to nominate individuals, but all members will participate in their individual capacity, serving a mandate of two years.

The deadline for applications is Monday, 26 April 2023, 23.59 CEST.
