Construction of 150 small photovoltaic-hybrid mini-grids in Nigeria

Overview

The project aims at helping mitigate climate change in Nigeria. It supports access to reliable and affordable energy by investing in sustainable energy infrastructure designed to:

  • Provide initial electrification
  • Substitute polluting and more expensive diesel-generated electricity supply

In concrete terms, the project targets the construction of about 150 small photovoltaic hybrid mini-grids with a total capacity of 15 MWp. It is expected to directly benefit about 54,000 households and 6,000 Small and Medium Enterprises.
