Overview
This flagship project aims to develop the critical raw materials value chains for lithium and copper in Argentina and Chile.
Under the strategic partnership with the EU on sustainable raw material value chains, it focuses on five key areas:
- Business to Business exchanges
- Research and Development focused on innovative solutions to processing and mining waste treatment
- Environmental, Social and Governance issues around mining, including the participation of Chile in the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) and work through the Responsible Business Conduct in LAC project to engage with key stakeholders (public, private, CSOs) on human rights and environmental due diligence in the mining sector
- Infrastructure development (e.g. roads, ports, energy)
- Skills and capacity building to move up the value chain for copper, lithium or rare earth minerals
