Overview
This project reinforces resilience concerning agrifood, minerals and energy, by establishing a green and digital transport corridor linking the Port of Pecém, in the Brazilian State of Ceará, to the Port of Sines, in Portugal, and the Port of Alcântara, in the Brazilian State of Maranhão, to the same Port of Sines.
It benefits those Brazilian States and the Brazilian inland as well as Portugal and Europe, contributing to the climate transition, namely regarding projects for green hydrogen and green steel, and contributing to the transport of agrifood stuff and minerals in more competitive conditions.
Milestones
- Beginning of the construction of the logistic terminal of the Port of Pecém: 2025
- Finalizing in 2026 the feasibility studies of the construction of the Terminal at the Port of Alcântara, at Maranhão
- Beginning of the construction of logistic terminals along the railway connecting to the Port of Pecém (Ferrovia Transnordestina)
