Healthcare investment in Egypt

Overview

This flagship project consists in strengthening Egypt’s healthcare system across all four levels of care—primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary—through a comprehensive investment program involving diagnostic centers, hospitals, and medical research collaborations.

Main project activities include:

  • Establishing a wide network of diagnostic centers across Egypt to expand access to top-quality primary healthcare services in strategically selected locations
  • Developing advanced hospitals through public-private partnerships, local collaborations, and mixed EU-Egyptian clusters, including upgrades to existing facilities as well as new brownfield and greenfield hospital projects
  • Promoting strategic investments in medical expertise, clinical trials, and research and innovation through partnerships with global med-tech companies, EU medical schools, and Egyptian institutions
  • Fostering technology transfer, protocol development, and education initiatives in collaboration with EU Member States’ Ministries of Health and Education

The project aims to enhance the quality, accessibility, and resilience of healthcare in Egypt while fostering sustainable EU-Egypt cooperation in medical research and innovation.
