This project aims to exploit opportunities offered by use of Copernicus Earth Observation data in areas such as Disaster Risk Reduction and environmental monitoring. For this, the EU is supporting the establishment of two LAC Regional Copernicus Centres, one in Panama and one in Santiago de Chile.

This flagship project brings together different initiatives on digital connectivity across the Amazon region, including a Team Europe flagship with Finland called Amazonia Verde. It also builds on broader regional efforts such as the BELLA cable and potential satellite-based connectivity solutions.
