Just Energy Transition Partnership in Senegal

Overview

This flagship project consists in a partnership with an initial term of three to five years, aimed at accelerating the deployment of renewable energies to increase their share to 40% of Senegal's installed electricity capacity by 2030.  

Main project activities include: 

  • Developing a long-term strategy (LTS) for low-carbon development by 2024.
  • Creating an investment plan to identify necessary investments and opportunities, thereby facilitating the implementation of Senegal's vision for a fair and equitable energy transition.

Milestones

  • Finalisation of the long-term strategy (LTS) for low greenhouse gas emission development
  • By July 2024, definition of an investment plan, by Senegal, in liaison with the members of the group of international partners, to identify the opportunities to implement its fair and equitable energy transition.
