Overview
This flagship project consists in enhancing the economic sustainability of Cameroon’s cotton sector through a loan supported by EU grants and AFD, in partnership with Sodécoton and the Government of Cameroon.
Main project activities include:
- The rehabilitation and construction of a ginning plant to improve Sodécoton’s industrial capacity and better absorb seed cotton processing volumes
- Strengthening mechanisms to secure purchase prices for producers, building on systems developed by Sodécoton since 2011
- Supporting the company’s environmental governance and transition to a low-carbon trajectory, including the construction of five photovoltaic installations funded by the EU
