Description

This  evaluation provides an independent and evidence-based assessment of the performance of the European Union's (EU) support to rule of law (RoL) and anticorruption in Partner Countries. It has a broad scope, looking not only at support provided to core (state) institutions and civil society organisations, but also at how the EU promoted and applied RoL principles beyond matters related to formal justice and anti-corruption systems. In addition to 12 country case studies, the evaluation team examined a wide range of EU policy documents, consulted more than 300 policymakers, practitioners and stakeholders via interviews and through means of an online survey.
