Preliminary Monitoring Report considered by the AU-EU Ministerial Follow-up Committee

In the Joint Vision for 2030 adopted at the 6th EU-AU Summit in 2022, Leaders of the European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU) committed to follow up on the respective engagements taken and to monitor the implementation of the commitments undertaken during AU-EU Summits, via existing AU-EU structures, including the AU-EU Ministerial Follow-up Committee.

The present Report for the AU-EU Ministerial Follow-up Committee, co-drafted by the European Union and the African Union, provides a state of play of the implementation of the
Joint Vision for 2030 over the three years since its adoption. It also highlights the added value of the Africa-EU Partnership, based on its four key pillars: 

1. A prosperous and sustainable Africa and Europe
2. A renewed and enhanced cooperation for peace and security
3. An enhanced and reciprocal partnership for migration and mobility
4. A commitment to Multilateralism

Extensive progress is detailed throughout the report in all priority areas of the renewed AU-EU partnership that demonstrates the solidity, depth and reliability of the long-lasting engagement among the two Unions for the benefit of their people, which is more important than ever in our complex geopolitical context.
