Description
The “EU-Nepal business forum 2024:” builds upon the first ever business forum in 2023 that brought together more than 300 participants from the EU and Nepal, to discuss ways to explore and promote business relations. The event was a success. It covered a range of topics, including Nepal’s overall trade and investment climate, the necessity for supportive policies and infrastructure for investment-driven growth, and the impact of Nepal’s transition from a Least Developed Country (LDC) on market access for its products in the EU.
Yet, it also raised the voices for reform, streamlining of the business processes and strengthening of business support institutions, which facilitate businesses and private sector-led growth in Nepal, to make it an attractive destination for investors. It also paved the way for Nepali businesses to systematically engage with European investors by organising such a forum on an annual basis.
This years’ Forum intends to:
- showcase opportunities for investment in Nepal;
- provide information on the key investment potential sectors of Nepal;
- (iii) matchmaking between potential EU Investors and Nepali businesses; and
- organise a trade fair to promote products, arts, crafts, food and culture of EU member states and Nepal.
The agenda includes a mixture of panels and keynote sessions organised into four plenary sessions and four parallel sessions. It will also feature several business networking events, visits to a business fair, food fair, pitching sessions, matchmaking meetings, signature ceremonies, and a gala dinner.
Participation is free but requires registration and subsequent approval, since participants are screened prior to selection to ensure a highly relevant audience. Participation can be in-person or online.
