The European Union Delegation to El Salvador awarded the winners of the Trazatón #DesdeCasa contest, an activity held during the 'Europa con vos, Ahuachapán' Festival [Europe with you, Ahuachapán]. This festival calls upon young people to express themselves through art and present a proposal for a mural with the theme #StrongerTogether: Unity and Solidarity in Difficult Times.
The activity was organised in close collaboration with the local authority of Ahuachapán, a department located in the western zone of El Salvador. The 'FaBru'S Brothers' (Fabio & Bruno @hermanosfarusart), two Salvadoran artists from Ahuachapán, held two virtual workshops: the first on drawing and basic notions, and the second on the conceptualisation of a design project.
The jury awarded the first prize to 19 year-old Wilfredo Vásquez, who received a laptop and will be able to paint his mural on a wall in Ahuachapán when the situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic stabilizes, with 100% of the costs of materials covered, and with technical advice from the FaBru'S Brothers. The second place went to Nazareth Henriquez, 17, who received a tablet; and the third place went to Flor de Maria Salazar, 19, who received a smart watch. The three winners also received a diploma from the EU.
The Youth Festival 'Europa con Vos' is an activity organised by the EU Delegation since 2018 in cities of the central zone of the country; in 2018 it was held in Santa Ana and in 2019, in San Miguel.
Due to Covid-19, this year it was adapted to on line activities through this contest and later, other activities are willing to be celebrated.
