In recognition of the importance of securing supply of critical raw materials and diversification of industrial value chains, during the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels, the EU and Uzbekistan agreed to work on a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of sustainable critical raw materials (CRM).

At the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) signed a contract to jointly finance the construction of the Kakono hydropower plant in Tanzania. Through this agreement the EU and the AFD will jointly contribute €146 million, about half of the total cost of €296 m.
