Choir-Sainshand energy transmission line in Mongolia

Overview

The purpose of the transmission line project is to address the need for an upgrade of the power transmission infrastructure in the Choir and Sainshand regions and make it fit for purpose for renewable energy offtake. 

This Action with EBRD will finance the construction of 220 km transmission line.​

The purpose of the Aimag and Soum Centers Green and Resilient Regional Development Investment Program (ASDIP), with ADB and EIB, is to provide basic infrastructure to Secondary Urban Centres,​​​​​​​​ such as roads, internet connection, electricity networks and substations, photovoltaic panels, water networks, district heating network, renovation of public building, social and affordable housing, solid waste.​

Milestones

  • Approval of the Mongolian Parliament for Aimag and Soum Centers Green and Resilient Regional Development Investment Program (ASDIP) to be followed by the signature of the EIB loan first tranche and EC investment grant first tranche
