Mid-Term evaluation of the support programme to implementation of the EU-PNG cooperation (2020)

The EU project ”The Support programme to implementation of the EU-PNG Cooperation” was launched on the 6th March 2017 and was intended to last a duration of 78 months, of which the operational phase is 54 months and the closure phase is fixed to 24 months. The project under the evaluation is designed as a “Support Programme to Implementation of the EU-PNG Cooperation”.

This Mid-Term Evaluation covers the intervention period between the 6th March 2017 and 31st October 2019. Total budget is EUR 10.35 million, of which the EDF contribution is EUR 9 million.

The programme was aimed to deliver support to the implementation of the EU-PNG Cooperation, including capacity strengthening activities to improve the NAO system and the line ministries. The aim is to improve the formulation and implementation of the PNG EU development cooperation programme, and so contribute to the effectiveness of the aid provided to PNG. It has focused on areas of support to the Department of National Planning and Monitoring (DNPM). Its projects strengthen the programming, planning, and delivery of aid through the Department. It is hoped that more effective project management and monitoring will underpin effective internal and external communication and information.
