COP28: EU announces over €20 billion for Team Europe Initiative on Africa-EU Green Energy Initiative
Today, during the COP28, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič announced a Team Europe pledge of more than €20 billion for the Africa-EU Green Energy Initiative (AEGEI), an initiative launched during the 6th EU-AU Summit, in February 2022.
COP28: EU and Honduras join forces to restore 1,3 million hectares of forest in Honduras with a strategic Forest Partnership
Today, during the COP28, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Maroš Šefčovič and representative of the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a Forest Partnership with Honduras.
Afghanistan: EU reinforces basic needs support to the Afghan people with a new €142.8 million package
The European Commission adopted a new funding package worth €142.8 million to strengthen basic services and sustain livelihoods for Afghans, with a focus on vulnerable populations including displaced or displacement-affected people.
