Global Gateway in Latin America and the Caribbean: European Space Agency and the Commission join forces on earth observation
The European Commission has signed a contribution agreement with the European Space Agency to build a regional Copernicus centre in Panama, the first of its kind in the context of EU external relations.
The EU will invest an additional €125 million to strengthen health systems, in particular to help extend universal health coverage, through a partnership program with the World Health Organisation (WHO), signed today by Commissioner Jutta Urpilainen and WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros.
Today, the Commission adopted a new EU Global Health Strategy to improve global health security and deliver better health for all in a changing world. With the Strategy, the EU deepens its leadership and reasserts its responsibility for tackling key global challenges and health inequalities head-on.
The EU stands united in its solidarity with Ukraine and will continue to support Ukraine and its people together with its international partners, including through additional political, financial and humanitarian support.
On 8th November, the EU is organising “Africa Day – EU Global Gateway” at the EU Pavillion. Its main objective is to position Global Gateway as the key driver for the green transition in Africa.
