Kariba Dam is a concrete arch dam constructed across the Zambezi River, between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Built between 1956 and 1959, the dam created Lake Kariba, which is the largest man-made lake in the world by reservoir storage capacity.

As part of the BRiCE (Building Resilience: Education Opportunities in Fragile and Crisis Affected Environments) programme, the Never Too Late to Learn project facilitated and enhanced quality alternative education (AE) and early childhood care and development (ECCD) programmes.

In response to the pressing challenges faced by Lake Tanganyika, the European Union (EU), along with a contribution from the Wallonia authorities (Belgium), initiated the Lake Tanganyika Water Management (LATAWAMA) project in 2019 with a total budget of 7.4 million euros.

EMPoWR informs ethnic minority girls, boys, and young people about their rights, how to access support services, and raise their voice towards policy makers. The project uses an online platform to reach young boys and girls and raise awareness on human trafficking and child marriage.

“Eat4Change” is project calling for a shift toward more sustainable diets and food production practices. The project engages European citizens, especially 15 to 35 year olds, to embrace more sustainable diets, influence peers and support engagement with corporates and policy makers.
