Overview
The overall objective is to provide essential insights and understandings about decent work based on existing programmes and research funded by Enabel, and reports from international organisations, such as the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Key support offered by the Decent Work Toolbox (DWT) include:
1. Decent work assessments in different countries and sectors which so far include:
- Coffee and Cocoa in Uganda
- Domestic Work in the Democratic Republic of Congo
- Mining and construction sector in Rwanda
2. Research findings on the topics of labour inspection and green economy in Rwanda, Uganda and the DRC
3. General Information on the ILO's 4 pillars of decent work, good practices and a general knowledge depository
4. Tools and guidelines for businesses and enterprises, with examples including:
- the Fair Trade tourism certification in Uganda
- Employer of the year award in Uganda
5.Tools and guidelines for workers:
- Decent Work Assessment Tool developed by HIVA/KU Leuven
- Fair Work Monitor implemented by CNV International
