Description
The rapid advancement of technologies in recent years has brought significant opportunities and challenges. In this era of rapid technological change, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most powerful tools with the potential to transform societies, advance peace, and achieve sustainable development. While recognizing the immense benefits that AI presents, its ethical implications remain subjects of intense debate.
In this Kapuscinski Development Lecture, Dr. Francesca Rossi, IBM Fellow and AI Ethics Global Leader, will explore the ethical, political, and economic considerations for the advancement of AI in our global society. She will also share insights into how the world should govern AI in the coming years as it continues to evolve to ensure that it is a force for the common good.
Hosted by the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and the Sustainable Development SolutionsNetwork (SDSN). The lecture is part of the International Conference on Sustainable Development.
The Kapuscinski Development Lectures is an initiative funded by the European Commission.
