In honour of the recently awarded winners of the 2020 #NataliPrize, on October 19 the European Commission´s Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development, in partnership with Reporters Without Borders, will hold an online forum to discuss the future of journalism, changing media consumption habits and engaging with younger audiences, especially around development stories.

European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, will open this very first online forum celebrating journalism for sustainable development. A lively panel discussion will follow, moderated by Sky News presenter Gillian Joseph and featuring insights from:

  • Christine Ockrent, France Culture radio broadcast anchor and regular columnist at The Washington Post and The Guardian;
  • Anya Zoledziowski, journalist and indigenous affairs expert at VICE;
  • Koen Doens, Director-General for International Cooperation and Development at the European Commission; and
  • Rana Ayyub, journalist writing for The Washington Post, TIME, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian and Foreign Policy.

You can register for the event here and participate in the Q&A session, or follow it live here on DG DEVCO’s Facebook page.
