Overview
The project consists in the construction of 10,000 km of fibre-optic cables as part of a regional backbone in 5 countries, including backbone as well as metro networks.
The 5 countries covered by the project are located in Central and Southern Africa and includes: the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique.
The programme has an expected strong transformational impact for the region, providing coverage in many cases to unconnected areas, significantly improving quality of service and supporting access to connectivity to key beneficiaries (including schools and hospitals).
