Transfer of innovative Polish biogas technology to the agricultural sector in Kenya and Rwanda

Overview

This flagship project consists in transferring innovative Polish biogas technology to the agricultural sector in Kenya and Rwanda, enhancing access to clean energy and supporting local development.

Main project activities include:

  • Adapting Polish biogas solutions to local conditions in Kenya and Rwanda
  • Developing a pilot biogas plant in Kenya in cooperation with Meru University to stabilize local electricity supply
  • Assessing biomass potential and infrastructure in Rwanda, including site selection and environmental impact assessments
  • Building local capacity through training on biogas plant operation and maintenance

The project contributes to sustainable energy access, supports the EU's Global Gateway strategy, and promotes Poland’s role in green innovation abroad.
