As a European Union institution, we showcase our work through positive, inspiring and challenging communication, which is values-driven and impact-focused.
These guidelines cover content created for web and social media, but we respect a multichannel approach: content created according to these guidelines should be adaptable to other non-digital formats, including, but not limited to, op-eds, speeches, factsheets, publications and internal communications.
The guidelines are designed to support the Directorate-General for International Partnerships, EU Delegations and external service providers to produce powerful, contemporary and consistent digital content, which reflects the EU International Partnerships verbal and visual style.
They complement the EU International Partnerships Digital Style Guide (PDF - 6MB).
Tone of voice
Our tone of voice is decisive, communicates positive progress and inspires action for what we need to do next.
Look and feel
Our visual style allows us to communicate with impact and clarity. It reflects both modernism and heritage.
Whether it’s informative, inspiring or emotional, we focus on engaging content which connects with our audience.
We look at the world with a journalistic, un-orchestrated and investigative eye. Powerful photography captures people’s attention and invokes emotion in the viewer.
Whether human-centred or information-driven, video plays an important role in communicating not only what we do, but why we do it.
