Construction of 85 MW solar PV plant combined with electrolysers in Namibia

The EU and EIB are looking to support a project that will set up an 85 MW solar park relying on trackers and a green hydrogen unit based on electrolysers, fuel cells, and battery storage. The objective is to see the solar panels powering electrolysers to produce hydrogen that can be stored.

Construction of about 150 small photovoltaic-hybrid mini-grids in Nigeria

The mini-grids with a total PV capacity of 15 MWp are expected to directly benefit about 54,000 households and 6,000 SMEs, providing initial electrification or substituting polluting and more expensive diesel-generated electricity supply.

Strategic Transport Corridor: Mombasa-Kisangani
Construction of Bus Rapid Transit system in Nairobi, Kenya

Transport and trade facilitation projects along the strategic 'Northern Corridor' will improve regional connectivity and trade. The corridor links Kenya to neighbouring Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is the busiest trade and transport corridor in East Africa.

Construction of data center in Nouakchott and submarine cable in Mauritania

The EU-AU Data Flagship will support the development of Green Data Centres, with the aim to support Africa in building a data economy and foresting its data sovereignty through secure data storage and processing capacities.

Construction of fibre-optic cables in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique

Construction of a 10,000 km regional fiber-optic backbone across 6 countries with an impact on around 90 million Africans, directly connecting up to 3,000 schools, 1,500 hospitals, and 1,200 government institutions.

Kakono comprises an 88MW plant with fish pass and an associated transmission line. It will be a major power generation asset in the highly productive northwest of Tanzania. Kakono plant will increase the energy injected into the interconnected grid and will have a stabilizing impact on the grid.
