A nova estratégia europeia Global Gateway visa promover ligações inteligentes, limpas e seguras nos setores digital, da energia e dos transportes e reforçar os sistemas de saúde, de educação e de investigação em todo o mundo.
A Global Gateway está plenamente alinhada com a Agenda 2030 das Nações Unidas e os seus Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável, bem como com o Acordo de Paris.
O objetivo da estratégia é mobilizar até 300 mil milhões de euros em investimentos.
A ideia é reunir a UE, os seus Estados-Membros e as suas instituições financeiras e de desenvolvimento, no âmbito de uma abordagem Equipa Europa, para mobilizar o setor privado no intuito de alavancar investimentos com um impacto transformador.
A Global Gateway é executada através de projetos na América Latina e nas Caraíbas, no Médio Oriente, na Ásia e no Pacífico e na África Subsariana.
