Global Gateway on EU:n strategia, jolla edistetään älykkäitä, puhtaita ja turvallisia digitaali-, energia- ja liikenneyhteyksiä ja vahvistetaan terveydenhuolto-, koulutus- ja tutkimusjärjestelmiä kaikkialla maailmassa.
Strategia on YK:n Agenda 2030 ‑toimintaohjelman ja sen kestävän kehityksen tavoitteiden sekä Pariisin ilmastosopimuksen mukainen.
Global Gatewayn tavoitteena on saada liikkeelle jopa 300 miljardin euron investoinnit.
Strategia toteutetaan Team Europe -yhteistyöllä, johon osallistuvat EU:n toimielimet ja EU-maat sekä niiden rahoitus- ja kehityslaitokset. Yhteistyön kautta yksityinen sektori saadaan mukaan muutosvaikutteisiin investointeihin.
