The Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) Programme assists the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries to address their priorities for better managing and governing biodiversity and natural resources. It provides a variety of tools, services and funding.

Elands running

The project supports biodiversity conservation in six priority regions: Congo Basin forest ecosystems, Transhumance landscapes in Central Africa, West Africa Forests, Sudano-sahelian savannahs of West Africa, Eastern Rift savannahs and watersheds, Transfrontier conservation areas of Southern Africa.

The SWITCH Africa Green programme aims to assist African countries with sustainable development, by encouraging a shift towards an inclusive green economy. 

SWITCH Asia programme

SWITCH Asia promotes sustainable consumption and production.

The programme's objectives are to provide members and regions of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) innovative and collaborative solutions to manage climate-related risk considerations in their sustainable development policy, planning and practice decisions.
The programme's objective is to reduce the impact of climate change and its effects in Latin America and the Caribbean by fostering climate mitigation, adaptation, resilience and investment.
AgriFI is a €120m impact investment facility funded by the European Union. It is designed to provide financing to businesses active in the agri-food value chain, with a focus on smallholder farmers.
2FAS aims to support countries with their food fortification programmes, share knowledge on reducing micronutrient deficiencies and increase political commitment to food fortification at global and national levels.
The facility aims to provide improved knowledge and evidence for policy and programme design, management, and monitoring and evaluation in order to reach better nutrition outcomes.
This programme aims to tackle some of the underlying challenges in building sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.

Digital, research and innovation

The ACP-EU Programme to Strengthen Research and Innovation capacity in ACP countries targets public and private stakeholders with a comprehensive package of opportunities.

Sustainable growth and jobs

The EU initiated a dialogue in support of the sustainable cocoa sector. The objective of the Initiative is to support the elimination of child labour and child trafficking, the protection and restoration of forests, and to ensure a living income for cocoa farmers.

Peace and governance

Inter Pares strengthens the capacity of parliaments
This programme aims to strengthen the capacity of parliaments in partner countries by enhancing their legislative, oversight, representative, budgetary and administrative functions.
EU-LAC partnership on justice and security

EL PACCTO 2.0 aims to fight organised transnational crime using an integrated approach to reinforce the rule of law, citizen security and stability, both in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and Europe.

The Bêkou Trust Fund was set up as a rapid, flexible tool in 2014 to respond to the consequences of the crisis in the Central African Republic the previous year. It positions itself in the humanitarian-development-peace nexus.

This programme seeks to create open dialogue between Europe and LAC countries on the impact that transitioning to a higher level of income has on the capacity of partner countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The facility's purpose is to help Latin American countries finance projects in key sectors that are essential for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, such as energy, environment, water, transport, social services, and support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The facility aims at contributing to economic development and growth, regional integration, poverty reduction and environmental protection through the mobilization of resources for strategic economic infrastructure projects and for support to the private sector.

Kariba Dam Rehabilitation Project (empty)

Kariba Dam is a concrete arch dam constructed across the Zambezi River, between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Built between 1956 and 1959, the dam created Lake Kariba, which is the largest man-made lake in the world by reservoir storage capacity.
